Technical characteristics
Tungsten is a rare metallic element used for manufacturing TIG electrodes. TIG welding is based on the high hardness of tungsten and exceptional heat resistance. It has the highest melting point among metals (3410 degrees Celsius). Non-consumable tungsten electrodes have different sizes and length and consist either of pure tungsten or of tungsten doped with rare earth elements or their oxides.
