Titanium alloys are divided into alpha or β-alloys in the form of a crystal lattice: α-lattice — has the form of a hexahedron, and β-lattice — a cubic form. The titanium brand VT3−1 has a mixed α + β lattice. Contains the following alloying elements: 6.3% Al, 1.5% Cu, 2.5% Mo, 0.3% Si, 0.5% Fe. Aluminum is also important for titanium alloys as carbon for steel. Almost all titanium grades contain aluminum. It is cheap, easily accessible, a small specific weight allows in total to increase the specific strength and modulus of elasticity of the alloy. Aluminum reduces the tendency to hydrogen embrittlement and thermostability of the alloy, simultaneously increases the heat resistance and sensitivity to salt corrosion. Additions of molybdenum contribute to an increase in chemical resistance, heat resistance, suppress the formation of the α-phase during quenching.

The quality of wire, circle and rod of grade VT22 is normalized to GOST 27265−87. The surface of a circle, wire, rod of mark VT1−0 must be clean without oil stains, breaks, burrs, pure and light color, without hints of tarnish. The undulation that may occur during annealing is not considered to be a marriage.

Sections of VT3−1 grade are distinguished by considerable chemical resistance, heat resistance, minimum coefficient of thermal expansion, ductility and low perforation. Weight. High fatigue strength depends on the external environment. In a vacuum, titanium exhibits higher endurance than in the air atmosphere. The lower the surface roughness, which depends on the machining, the higher the stability of the material. Increases the strength by manual polishing with a copper skin up to the 9th grade of roughness.
