Its production is strictly defined steel grades 12X18H9T, 12H18N9, 12X18H10T 10H17N13M3T, 10H17N13M2T, 17H18N9, 20X13,12H13, 30X13 and 40X13. The choice of grade of steel for spring wire defines its main characteristics, including color and appearance. Depending on the brand of stainless steel produce wire will have a bleached or dark color and will also be more rigid or plastic.

A method of manufacturing a spring wire determines its future characteristics and scope of the assignment. To date, there are two methods of manufacturing this product: hot processing and cold drawn method. The standard provides several kinds of processing of the finished product. Spring wire can be oxidized (T) — for its production uses such steel grades: 20X13, 40X13, 12H13, 30CH13, and bright (CU), which is made from such steel grades: 08H18N10, 12H18N9, 12H18N10T, 12KH18N9T, 10H17N13M2T, 17H18N9 and 10H17N13M3T. The last type of wire is the most popular in modern industry, and is available in different cross section from 0.3 to 0.6 millimeters.
