Technical characteristics

The main feature of these alloys — high resistance to marine corrosion and biological fouling. This quality includes resistance to chlorides, in terms of pitting, crevice corrosion and corrosion cracking under load, high temperature and humidity of the surrounding air. Good conductivity and ductility down to cryogenic temperatures.

Application

Composition

Copper is the main component of Cu-Ni alloys. The percentage of Nickel in the industrial manufacture of copper-Nickel alloys is 8.5…45%. Additionally, the alloy legarrette minor additions of other elements, most commonly zinc in an amount of not more than 1%. To improve specific properties, some grades of these alloys are additionally lagerbuchse manganese, iron and tin, while cast alloys are also of silicon and niobium. In aviation technologies uses copper-Nickel alloys, which contain up to 0.6% beryllium.
