VT5 grade belongs to the group of the first domestic titanium alloys for industrial applications. This alloy has a single-phase α-structure. VT5 was developed in the middle of the twentieth century by the design association VIAM. The casting version of VT5L alloy became a domestic analogue of the foreign brand Ti-5Al-22,5Sn. It is not hardened by hardening.
